Godeys Ladys Book 1863 ![]()



Color copies of all twelve color plates form the 1863 volume of Godeys Ladys
Book. These are the plates reproduced on photo grade paper and mounted on to
card stock. On the back is a description of each dress by Mr. Godey, as copied
out of the original magazines.

Parasol, Long handle with small parasol top. Satin-like polyester cover
can be dressed up with lace and garnishments or re-covered to make a nice period

Battenberg Lace Parasol, 100% cotton cover with 5" of lace around
the edge, or all over pattern. 26". wooden handle. White only (Other colors

Ladies
Cotton Stockings, 100% mercerized cotton. Thigh high, requires roll garter
below. Colors- Black, White, Beige
Sizes are not based on foot size. 8 1/2 fits small feet and 11 will fit a ladies
shoe size 12. Use this as a guide to determine the stocking size.........$

Garters, Cotton covered elastic roll type. Correct for above hose- specify

Stockings with Stripes. Each stocking is hand made on an antique sock loom.
100% cotton with a small amount of elastic added at the top to stay up. No need
for garters.
These are knee high stocking in a correct period striped pattern. many styles

Snoods, Crocheted, Elastic band to stay on. Rayon, Choice
of colors - Red, White, Black, Maroon, Gray, Blue, Brown, Not period material,
but they look great and are an inexpensive alternative. A ribbon can be used

Ladies Slippers, Black cotton tops with rubber soles. Comfortable. Specify

Ladies Work Shoe, black or brown, pegged soles.(Suitable for women's
wear). These are the same as our dress brogans, only in women's sizes. Smooth
or Rough side out. We need a foot tracing and any necessary measurements to
make them fit correctly the first time. 1-3 weeks delivery. We have men's sizes
from 3 1/2 -15 in stock at all time. To convert from ladies shoes, subtract

factory made pair of ladies shoes.
The best part is that they are American Made!
This style had been sold by Fall Creek Suttlery
in California for many years.
Now we have it available online.
Very high quality top grain leather with a canvas lining. Full leather sole
stitched on. Heel has a rubber tap to decrease wear and slipping.
13 eyelet's and each shoe stands approximately 8 1/2" tall from the floor.
Comfortable fit. These shoes will perform well for most periods from the 1850's
through the 1920's.
Especially suited for Civil War and Cowboy Shooting or Historical Western impressions.

Our hoops have draw string waist. We usually
have ruffled hoops in stock.
All hoops are cotton covered steel boning (Some have Plastic Boning, depending
on the maker) and a full cotton shell covering. All have a drawstring waist
and one flounce at the bottom. Maximum waist size for standard hoops is 40".
The hoop diameter is variable by adjusting the boning inside the cover. The
circumferences are approximate.
Length is waist to ankle, (Child's Hoop is waist to knee). Regular length
for standard hoops is 39".
Child's Three Bone. 71" Circumference. Length 23". Great for
girls up to around age 10.................................$22.50
Four Bone Plain..124" Circumference. For very plain dresses. Beginners
usually like this one due to the lower price.....$36.95
Four Bone Plain.. 90" Circumference. Great for Smaller diameter

Ruffled hoops have a ruffle covering each bone. This helps hide the boning
and eliminates one or two "over the hoop" petticoats.
