All of our shoes are made in our shop in Lebanon, Indiana. If there is a color
or pattern variation you desire, please contact us. This includes orthopedics.
Our shoes are made from oak tanned top grain leather with the rough side out
for greater durability. All shoes are stitched internally and soles are hand
pegged for the longest life possible. Techniques and style are similar to those
used to produce shoes during the 1860's. We also utilize a hickory shank as
an arch support. We guarantee the quality of materials and workmanship for one
year (excluding campfire or heat damage to the soles). We were the first to
offer a guarantee on our shoes over 19 years ago, and continue to stand by our
product. Our brogans are well known, and are also available from most of the
major Civil War reproduction suppliers (sutlers) in the US, Canada, Germany,
Japan, and Italy. We are very proud of our products, and you will be too!
Hob
Nails- We are now offering Hob Nails on all of
our shoes. We found a source for these that has been making them since the 1700's.
Each nail has a 1/4" head with the correct pattern. We have these separately
in packages of 30 (15 per shoe). They are also available with a total of 30
installed on new shoes as listed below (15 per shoe).
We have lasts for mens' size 3 1/2 - 15 ,
D and EEE widths. Yes we make half sizes.
We can also make any size larger as needed.
Sizes 14 and above are $10.00 extra.
US Brogans, or Jefferson Bootee. Sometimes called the 1851 issue brogan.
This is our most popular shoe. Black dyed, rough side out. Single pegged soles
come standard. Double thickness in the counter area, hand waxed as a final process.
Our brogans also include internal stitching and a hickory arch support for comfort
and authenticity. These are all hand made in our shop by American craftsmen.
Any size is available.............................................$94.50
Dress Brogans, Black or brown, smooth side out, We hand select the leather
for these to insure good quality and shine. These are usually made to order.
We need a foot tracing and any necessary measurements to make them fit correctly
the first time. 1-3 weeks delivery. We sometimes have them in stock. Pegged
soles.....$99.50
CS Brogans, Russet leather, rough side out, We hand select the leather
on these as well to insure a good looking pair of shoes. These are usually made
to order. We need a foot tracing and any necessary measurements to make them
fit correctly the first time. Single row pegged soles are standard, we can do
double row if desired. 1-3 weeks delivery if not on hand...................$99.50
(Double Pegging- add $10.00)
Civilian Work Shoe, black or brown, pegged soles.(Suitable for women's
wear). These are the same as our dress brogans, above, only in women's sizes.
We need a foot tracing and any necessary measurements to make them fit correctly
the first time. 1-3 weeks delivery. We have mens' sizes from 3 1/2 -15 in stock
at all time. To convert from ladies shoes, subtract 1 1/2 sizes (example- ladies
8 is a mens 6 1/2. Please call if you have questions).....$99.50
Civil War Boots, correct one piece front, stitched soles. High Grade
Leather, with separate kid skin lining. Usually custom made for each customer.
Completed Boot Chart required for proper fit.
We can make our boots in either Flat Top (Stovepipe),
Knee Flap, or Dragoon Style.
All boots are "D" width unless otherwise

Dragoon Style Boots, As above with a two piece front. Has a taller flap
at the top which covers the knee, with an extrusion on each side, which could
be tied around the leg. Nice looking boots, usually custom made, We keep a few

Can be had in the correct one piece front style (custom made as above)- $235.00pr
Officer or Civilian Dress Boots, One piece front boots with an added
Deep Maroon or Tan Flap at the top. A little dressier, as seen being worn by
officers and civilians in period photos........................................................$235.00

Economy Boots, Similar to our correct style above. Top grain leather
with kidskin lining. Has a "Two Piece" front (Small keystone at the
ankle similar to modern boots). Squared toe, stitched soles. We have these in
stock (We keep D width on hand, other widths are made to order).
Both Stovepipe and Knee Flap are available. Shipping could be sooner than the

Huberds Shoe Grease, Excellent for your shoes and boots. Beeswax treatment
has a superior ability to waterproof and preserve the leather. Specially formulated
to condition and restore leather. 7.5 oz round can. The same family has been

Huberds Shoe Oil. Conditioning oil with beeswax offers protection and preservation
of leather. Defends against moisture, mildew and rotting. Ideal for general
